HBO and Netflix lead this year's Emmy nominations

The sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live and sci-fi epic Westworld led the field with 22 nods apiece when Emmy Award nominations for excellence in television were announced.

In the best actress in a comedy category, Julia Louis-Dreyfus is hotly-tipped for a sixth consecutive Emmy for her role as hapless former president Selina Meyer on HBO's "Veep".

Top Chef took home this category back in 2010 and has also earned an Emmy for Outstanding Picture Editing for Reality Programming in 2008.

Flash flood warning issued for Chicago, north suburbs
At Toledo Express Airport, a cluster of thunderstorms dropped 1.47 inches between 4 and 7 a.m. The Flood Watch is in effect for Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties.

The Emmys honor excellence in television. The actress behind the killed-off Stranger Things character, Shannon Purser, earned a nod for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. While they locked down nominations in a few major acting categories, they were not nominated in any of the best show categories. NBC was third with 60, followed by FX with 54. It won 12 Emmys past year, including its second consecutive best drama award. Perhaps a bigger story is the performance of Netflix, which was runner up to HBO with 91 nominations, way, way up from the 54 it got a year ago.

The 2017 Emmy Awards nominations came out today, and of course, many fan favorite titles were left off of the list. That's because two perennial nominees - "Game of Thrones", which missed the eligibility window; and "Downton Abbey", which finished its run- weren't in the mix.

Among late-night talk hosts, Jimmy Kimmel, John Oliver, James Corden and Bill Maher won repeat nominations, joined by newcomers Samantha Bee, for her TBS series Full Frontal, and Stephen Colbert, whose CBS Late Show was snubbed previous year. Better Call Saul's Michael McKean was left out of the drama supporting actor category.

Fed report, lower U.S. oil production lift oil prices higher
The US could quadruple its crude oil exports by 2020 in a move that will seriously impact OPEC's hold on the global market. Energy Information Administration will release its official weekly oil supplies report at 10:30AM ET (1430GMT).

Up for Best Comedy are Veep, Atlanta, black-ish, Master of None, Modern Family, Silicon Valley and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Instead, the Emmys will take place, according to the official website, on September 17 this year.

Amazon's "Transparent" had been nominated for best comedy series for the past two years, but was left out this time around.

On the surprises front, perhaps the biggest shock was a nomination for Stranger Things' Shannon Purser (Barb).

Wimbledon 2017: Novak Djokovic retires in quarter-final, Tomas Berdych advances
I asked him if he would like to spend time with Andre and I during Wimbledon, while you're there, if you have time. The third set was the closest of the three and, after an hour and 10 minutes, Raonic earned his first break point.

HBO is on the map for limited series, too, with "Big Little Lies" and "The Night of", as well as for its TV movies "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks", and "Wizard of Lies".
