'A Wrinkle in Time' first trailer dazzles with big stars, big ideas

Ava DuVernay

A Wrinkle in Time trailer debuts at D23

Finally, Duvernay and company dropped the first trailer at D23 (Disney's convention centered around their properties, held at Disneyland) this weekend, and boy, is it something.

Along with a star-studded cast, including Chris Pine, Mindy Kaling and Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon, DuVernay debuted the film's first trailer - and it looks epic.

Based on the 1963 novel by Madeleine L'Engle, Disney's A Wrinkle in Time follows Meg Murry as she travels through time and space to rescue her scientist father from a planet where he's being held hostage.

A wrinkle in time

As for the film's diverse cast, DuVernay told the assemblage of fans that she wanted the cast the film with people "that looked like you, that looked like the real world". "A family story wrapped in an epic adventure where you see worlds you've never seen before-it's the flawless place".

Witherspoon says she was a huge fan of the book as a little girl, roughly about Reid's age. Whatsit, and Mindy Kaling's Mrs. Who.

"I saw myself in it".

Neighbor Shocked After Cosmo DiNardo's Cousin Arrested In Bucks County Killings
The FBI discovered a common grave full of human remains as well as the body of one of the young men, 19-year-old Dean Finocchiaro. Once their bodies transported on the property of the parents Dinardo, they would have been burnt in a roasting pan for the pigs.

From the adorable on-set photos to the handsome stills in Entertainment Weekly, DuVernay already had me ridiculously excited for this film - and the sweeping, strange, colorful trailer met all my expectations.

Winfrey, who was anointed a Disney Legend yesterday, cried out to the crowd of thousands that everybody gets a poster!

There may be A Wrinkle in Time, but this flick is looking absolutely seamless.

While you'll have to wait until March 2018 for the movie to hit theaters, this first trailer will hopefully help time fly by.
