HURRICANE TRACKER: Category 1 Hurricane Jose Weakens, Forecast To Not Impact US

Hurricane Jose sitting out in the Atlantic on Wednesday is expected to make a slow clockwise rotation over the next 36 to 48 hours that could bring it closer to the US and the Bahamas

After Irma, are we going to get clobbered by Hurricane Jose next?

"On the forecast track, the center of Jose will remain well to the east-northeast of the Bahamas through Wednesday", the NHC said.

Once a major Category 4 hurricane following in the path of its bigger sister, Irma, Jose is now a Category 2 storm with winds of 105 miles per hour.

No coastal watches or warnings were in effect.

With all the attention focused, rightly, on Hurricane Irma and the damage she has done, do not forget that there is a second hurricane still churning in the Atlantic.

A parallel CBI Probe was also demanded by the victim's father, Varun Thakur , as the school had severe administrative loopholes. According to Kumar's alleged confession to the police of the sequence of events, he reached the washroom before the child.

Maximum sustained winds had decreased to near 75 miles per hour, making it a weak Category 1. Long-term models diverge wildly after four or five days, but one Global Forecast System model does predict Jose making a path up the east coast and eventually hitting the coast of NY in about ten days. That's about 505 miles (810 Km) east-northeast of the southeastern Bahamas and 435 miles (700 km) south of Bermuda.

Current long-term forecast models for Jose are all over the map next week.

Jose is no Irma, however.

"Even with such a complex track expected to evolve, there is good agreement amongst most of the model guidance", the National Hurricane Center said in a forecast discussion.

The Royal College of Nursing has made it clear that industrial action is on the table if the government fail to scrap the pay cap. A report earlier this week claimed public sector workers were on average 10 per cent better off than those in the private sector.

"This evolution will cause Jose to make a slow clockwise loop during the next 3 days and then turn northward and northwestward once it moves around the western side of the ridge", forecasters wrote this morning. A few other models put the storm on a more northward track closer to a North Carolina, Virginia or Maryland landfall late next week.
