Eddie Howe has tipped Jordon Ibe to end his sticky Bournemouth start and realise his "immense promise" this season.

Solly March capped a flowing move to put Brighton deservedly ahead, but Surman finished coolly to level, before Defoe rifled home the victor.

England hitman Defoe bagged his first Bournemouth goal since a 3-3 draw at Reading on May 5, 2001 - when Howe featured in central defence. The former Liverpool player put on his best display for the Cherries in over a year with two skilful assists that helped Bournemouth register an unlikely comeback. He's not somebody that normally gets onto that far post and into those areas.

"Once we took the lead, if anything, that spurred them into perhaps making the changes that they did and they had to go for it a little bit more".

Trump's tweets after London attack draw anger from the UK
A press officer for Scotland Yard told Daily Star Online the force is yet to identify any suspects in connection to the bombing. Police say several people have been injured in the rush-hour incident on a Tube train at Parsons Green station in west London.

However, Brighton were not to be denied in the 55th minute when Solly March rose well to head home Pascal Grob's cross.

Two minutes later, Bournemouth were level as Ibe's back-heel played Surman, who skipped past a challenge before slotting into the bottom corner.

Ibe nearly provided the cherry on a particularly sweet outing, drilling a free-kick wide, but victory was safely seen out to kick-start the seasons of player and club alike.

Howe said Bournemouth, who finished ninth behind Southampton last season, have shown character to come through testing times and stressed the need to get back to the basics.

Google hit with lawsuit over gender pay gap
Gina Scigliano, a Google spokesperson, said in a statement to NPR that "we disagree with the central allegations" in the lawsuit. The former employees claim the company consistently pays men more for doing similar work as women in similar conditions.

- Bournemouth continued their unbeaten league run against Brighton, winning 2-1 to extend that run to seven matches (W4 D3).

- Defoe has now scored against 36 different Premier League teams - only three players have scored against more; Frank Lampard (39), Andrew Cole (38) and Alan Shearer (37).

The Premier League clash will take place at The Vitality Stadium.

Following that, Bournemouth travel to Everton in the league next weekend while 14th-placed Brighton host Newcastle United.

Babar Azam (48 off 31 balls) also missed out on his half century as Thisara Perera dismissed him in the final over of the innings. His and Pakistan's only hundred in a Twenty20 global had come against Bangladesh during the World Twenty20 tournament in 2014.
