NY police are gathering evidence with an eye toward preparing a warrant to arrest Harvey Weinstein on rape charges.

The NYPD is investigating a third sexual assault allegation against Harvey Weinstein - this time from an actress who accuses the fallen movie mogul of raping her in 2010, authorities said.

The Manhattan District Attorney's office tells CBS News that they have assigned a senior sex crimes prosecutor to investigate this case.

Vanity Fair reported on Friday, November 3, de la Huerta's allegations have launched a new NYPD investigation and NYPD officer Nicholas DiGaudio believes they have enough evidence to move forward with an arrest.

It led to directors using a voice double that de la Huerta said left critics with a bad impression of her work.

He also accused the ruling party of not fulfilling half the promises it made in the last Assembly elections . He said this was not the Congress of Mahatma Gandhi "but of corruption, dynasty politics and casteism".

"I was so terrified of him", de la Huerta told Vanity Fair.

"As this is an active investigation", the statement continues, "we will not be commenting further".

De la Huerta told CBS News that the first rape occurred in October 2010 after Weinstein gave her a ride home from a party, insisted on having a drink in her apartment and forced himself on her.

"We have an actual case here", Boyce said.

Weinstein had been ostracised by Hollywood but strongly denies any non-consensual sexual activity took place.

Investigators in London and California were also looking into allegations made by women, but no other department has suggested allegations could result in criminal charges.

Weinstein is in Phoenix for treatment following his recent sex scandal, which cost him his marriage, his reputation and his seat on The Weinstein Company board.

He said the NYPD was working on the case with the Manhattan district attorney's office.

After that, de la Huerta says Weinstein continued to call her and eventually showed up in the lobby of her building in December.

"We are aware of the sexual assault complaints". We are not the target, but of course we are cooperating fully.
