3 US Aircraft Carriers to Hold Drills off S.Korean Coast

Three U.S. military aircraft carriers are heading to the same part of the world at the same time, to take part in a rare military exercise not seen in a decade.

It is the first time that three aircraft carriers are conducting drills together in the western Pacific since the Valiant Shield exercises in 2006 and 2007 off the coast of the island of Guam.

Since taking office, Trump has vowed to expand the fleet of USA carriers, even as some military strategists and experts believe the massive ships would be increasingly vulnerable to modern Chinese and Russian weapons in any conflict.

The three aircraft carriers are expected to link up in the Sea of Japan later this week off the Korean Peninsula, a USA defense official tells Fox News.

Even Light Drinking May Raise Cancer Risk, Doctors Warn
A recent survey finds that 70% of Americans are unaware of how alcohol is linked to potential cancer. Doctors said the way to lessen the risk is to drink less or don't start if you do not drink already.

The strike force plans to conduct air defense drills, sea surveillance, replenishments at sea, defensive air combat training, close in-coordinated maneuvers, and other training.

Animosity between the USA and the isolated regime could increase further when the first three-aircraft carrier exercise begins on Saturday. Both exercises focused on the ability to rapidly bring together forces from three strike groups in response to any regional situation.

The U.S. Navy announced Wednesday it will carry out a rare exercise involving three aircraft carriers to send a message to North Korea. In recent months, U.S. Navy carriers have conducted dual-carrier strike group exercises in the Western Pacific, including in the contested South China Sea, East China Sea and Philippine Sea. It is committed to maintain the security commitments for the next 70 years, the report added.

The U.S. leader, who began a visit South Korea on Tuesday, has rattled some allies with his vow to "totally destroy" North Korea if necessary to defend the United States or its allies, and with his dismissal of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as a "rocket man" on a suicide mission. "It is a hell that no person deserves", the CNN reported.
